Angel Locsin warned the public of a fake Facebook account using her name and photos to offer cash or relief goods amid the COVID-19 lockdowns.

The actress, who has actively been aiding COVID-19 frontliners, posted a screenshot of the profile on her Twitter page last Monday, March 30.

The account is named “Angel Locsin Staffed” and uses an old photo of the actress at a past relief operation. The impostor offered to give 150 people relief goods or P1,500 in cash through Palawan Express.

The fake post quickly went viral and was shared more than 6,900 times three hours after it was created. Locsin’s post of the screenshot, however, featured a message stating that the said account has no connection to her. It also urged others to report the fake page.

Locsin also called out the account, saying, “This is not me. Magingat po (Please beware).” Following the actress’ post, the profile changed its name to “ANGEL Locsin Staffed-Private Account” and remains active on Facebook.

Locsin has been providing tents to hospitals treating COVID-19 patients through her fundraiser UniTENTweStandPH. She launched the crowdfunding initiative on March 25 with the help of her fiancé, Neil Arce, and fellow actress Dimples Romana. They have since raised over P3.9 million as of this writing and are set to help 28 hospitals in and out of Metro Manila.  /ra
