Eat Bulaga suspends admission of live studio audience due to coronavirus threat
MANILA, Philippines — Due to the threat of 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19), fans of Eat Bulaga will no longer be allowed to watch the show live in the studio.
In a statement on Monday, the Eat Bulaga management announced that it has decided to temporarily suspend the admission of a live studio audience in the airing of the show.
“(This is) to help prevent the spread of the virus and to ensure the health and safety of its talent, staff, crew, and members of its audience,” it said in a statement posted in its Instagram account.
The management further explained that the move was made after “extensive” and “careful” consideration to cooperate with the government’s efforts to contain the spread of the disease.
“Araw-araw pa rin po kaming maghahatid ng isang libo’t isang tuwa sa inyong mga tahanan. Ingat po tayong lahat, Dabarkads!” it said.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country — seven of which are confined, two have recovered, and one that died.
The department has also raised Code Red Sublevel 1 over the weekend after it confirmed the country’s first local transmission of the disease.
The confirmed cases prompted President Rodrigo Duterte to sign a proclamation declaring a state of public health emergency.

The Presidential Security Group (PSG) will also implement a “no-touch” policy on the President to ensure his safety amid the threat of the respiratory disease.
