Ryan Agoncillo shares touching story on son Lucho learning about simple joys

Ryan Agoncillo documents his family life not only with pictures but also with touching anecdotes of their everyday lives and his love story with Judy Ann Santos. He dedicates these to his son Lucho on Instagram with the hashtag #storiesforlucho.

The actor shared his latest story on Instagram on Tuesday, Sept. 3, this time giving a peek into how his 8-year-old son realized the secret to appreciating life’s ordinary moments.
He said it started with Lucho claiming that he had the “best play date ever” after he went with his best friend to a sari-sari store.

On Sunday, Agoncillo and Santos brought Lucho and their daughter Yohan, 14, to a sari-sari store at his son’s request. According to Lucho, the chips they bought at the store were more delicious than those in their pantry. When his son asked why was that so, Agoncillo explained, “Maybe it’s just the context of how you’re eating.”
Lucho asked what the word “context” meant and Agoncillo said, “Meaning everything that happened, waiting for us, riding the back of the truck, paying the manong tindero, sharing with ate, you enjoyed all of that even before you took your first bite.”
He recalled Lucho “giving me this look like i was saying something crazy as he was slowly walking away with a smirk.”
“That night over dinner he turns and asks his mom…’mommy, why does dinner taste so much better when we’re all together?’”
“Even before mom answered that question, I’m happy you got it bud,” wrote Agoncillo.
“Oh my boy [heart emoji],” Santos gushed in the comments section.
Celebrity friends poured praises too. “I am a #storiesforlucho fan,” said TV host Bianca Gonzalez, while host Drew Arellano described the account as “beautiful.”
Besides Yohan and Lucho, Agoncillo and Santos are parents to 3-year-old Luna. /ra
