LOOK: Sunshine Garcia, Alex Castro mark son’s 1st birthday with ‘Aladdin’ party, Christening

Celebrities Sunshine Garcia and Alex Castro welcomed their son Axel to the Christian world and marked his 1st birthday in advance, ahead of the baby turning 1 year old, on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

The couple was joined by family and friends during the baptism, as seen in a series of photos Garcia posted on Instagram yesterday, Sept. 4.

Garcia could not help but wax sentimental as Axel neared the age of one.

“Ang bilis talaga ng araw mag [1 year old] na [siya] (The days are so fast, he is about to turn 1 year old),” she said.

She then joked, “sa susunod nito may ka date kana (After this, you will already have a date).”

Garcia also took the time to thank all of Axel’s godfathers and godmothers for celebrating with them. Among the godparents were celebrities such as actors Badji Mortiz and Tart Carlos, as well as Garcia’s fellow former SexBomb members Cynthia Yapchingco and Mia Pangyarihan.

Baby Axel’s special day did not end there, as his parents had set up an advanced Aladdin-themed 1st birthday party for him.

The venue was adorned with purple, blue and gold decorations, reminiscent of the main colors seen in the animated Disney movie.

One of the decorations featured Axel’s name written in the style of the film’s poster. A small palace similar to the one in the movie, cutouts of the movie’s characters, Aladdin, Jasmine and Genie; statues of an elephant, camel and monkey and a tiger stuffed toy also adorned the venue.
