WATCH: Alex Gonzaga ‘auditions’ as the new Darna

As the search for the next Darna continues, Gonzaga took the opportunity to display some of her qualifications in a vlog uploaded on her Youtube channel, Ms Alex Gonzaga, last Friday, May 10 — all out of pure fun and jest.

As of this writing, the video has garnered over 800,000 views in the past 24 hours.

In the video, the singer-actress enumerated her talents, saying, “Kaya ko po kumanta. Kaya ko po sumayaw, tapos kaya ko rin po magpuyat hanggang alas-singko ng madaling araw, pero di ko po kaya gumising ng maaga pag nag-puyat ako.”

(I can sing. I can dance, and I can stay up until 5 a.m., but I cannot wake up if I stay up late.)

The YouTuber then proceeded to act as Darna, with a little girl as the famous sidekick, Ding, giving her the iconic magic rock. Gonzaga then transformed into the iconic superhero, wearing the famous costume over flesh stockings.

“Kaya ko rin po mag-fight scene, (I can also do a fight scene),” Gonzaga said as she fought with a man in slow motion.

Gonzaga also called her mom, Pinty, for a fight scene, to play one of Darna’s most famous villains Valentina. Mommy Pinty, however, was not up for fun and games as she scolded Gonzaga for including her in the vlog.

Aside from Gonzaga, Nadine Lustre also gained people’s attention when a video clip of her shouting “Darna!” circulated online.

Since Liza Soberano withdrew from the “Darna” project, fans have been waiting for the announcement of the next actress to play Darna. Star Cinema recently launched auditions for the role last May 4 to 5. JB
