WATCH: Joey de Leon marks 72nd birthday with bathing in the rain

“Eat Bulaga” host and comedian Joey de Leon marked his 72nd birthday today by bathing in the rain.
Some people believe that rain showers on their birthdays bring good luck and God’s blessings. De Leon seemed to subscribe to this belief as he took to Instagram to share a video of his bath.
Wearing a black shirt with “Eat Bulaga” emblazoned in front and navy blue shorts, de Leon enjoyed the afternoon shower with a smile on his face. At one point, he even raised his hands in the air as if in praise to God.
“Madalas umuulan pag birthday ko (Oftentimes, it is raining when it is my birthday),” he stated. “Thank you God for your blessing.”

In his other posts for today, the comedian showcased his wit, even including the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in one of his birthday jokes.
“Ang hindi lang maganda sa birthday eh yung first 3 letters… B… I… R (The only thing not good in “birthday” is its first three letters: B, I and R)! Ngek!” he said.

Of course, he did not forget to make fun of himself as well on his special day.
“I was born around 11:45 a.m. on a Monday of October 14 many years ago,” he stated. “Kanina I talked to my 93-year-old mom at sabi nya nadumi raw sya mga 11:45 a.m. din! Ang tigas daw! Ano yon, matigas ang ulo ko o astig lang ang dating?”
(I was born around 11:45 a.m. on a Monday of Oct. 14, many years ago. A while ago, I talked to my 93-year-old mom and she said she defecated at around 11:45 a.m. as well. She said her poop was hard. What does it mean? Was my head hard or was I simply tough?)

Meanwhile, his sons Jako and Jio shared via Instagram Stories the surprise and the “salubong tradition” their family had for the birthday celebrant. JB
