Lea Salonga, Eva Noblezada to star in upcoming musical ‘Yellow Rose’

“Miss Saigon” alumni Lea Salonga and Eva Noblezada are set to star in a movie musical titled “Yellow Rose.”

Noblezada will star in the musical, her first feature film, US theater magazine Playbill reported on Monday, Sept. 10.

“Yellow Rose” is the story of a 17-year-old Filipino-American girl named Rose, who dreams to be a country music star. After her mother is arrested by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, she must choose between following her dream and leaving it behind. Meanwhile, Salonga will play Rose’s aunt.

“For REAL!” Noblezada expressed her excitement for the upcoming movie on Twitter. “SO grateful to be part of this amazing film.”

The movie will be directed by Diane Paragas, and will have original music performed by the cast. The report stated that the movie has been in development for 15 years.
