It seems that while millions of people the world over anticipated and watched the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Kylie Padilla was one of those who seemingly at first could not give a care. In a now-deleted tweet made last May 19, Padilla wondered via Twitter whether she was the only one who couldn’t be bothered about the royal wedding.

“Am I the only one without a care for the royal wedding?” Padilla wrote then. “No hate there. I just don’t feel the hype. Is there something wrong with me?”

The royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was held in the St. George’s Chapel in the Windsor Castle, which has been the prime venue for many royal weddings in the past centuries.

Their wedding has been considered groundbreaking, as it broke many royal traditions that pervaded past royal weddings, and paid homage to black history and culture. For the unknowing, Markle is biracial with an African-American mother and a white father, Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle respectively.

It seems, too, that Padilla had a change of heart days after, as she tweeted in May 21 a photo of Prince Harry and Markle together. She wrote, “Congratulations to my favorite prince. So happy for Princess Diana too. #LoveWins.”

A certain netizen, however, posted a screenshot of Padilla’s past tweet in reply, the tweet where Padilla first dismissed the royal wedding’s hype just days before.

Padilla on her end defended that she only didn’t feel the hype then because she was focused on other arrangements. “Yes did post this and yes I didn’t feel the hype only because I was focused on other things,” she said. Padilla, however, admitted that she got to appreciate the wedding in its entirety and what it stood for after she had a moment to learn more about it.

“Now I’ve had time to sit down and know more about the wedding, I feel the joy the whole world was feeling,” added Padilla. “I was just late. I was just being honest. Peace.”  /ra
