WATCH: Christina Aguilera coaches James Corden how to hit high note in ‘Carpool Karaoke’
If Christina Aguilera can hit the high notes, she believes others can, too.
The trio of host James Corden, Aguilera and fellow guest Melissa McCarthy did all sorts of voice exercises to sing their hearts out in an extended “Carpool Karaoke” video for “The Late Late Show with James Corden”, which aired Monday, April 23.
After singing “Fighter”, Corden got curious about how Aguilera can manage to growl while singing. “That’s an angsty thing. You gotta get your fire on,” she explained. When he tried to do it, he said: “I just sound like I’ve got something trapped in my throat.”
Aguilera then reminisced about her Mickey Mouse Club days with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling. When Corden asked if she got lost in Gosling’s eyes at a young age, the singer replied: “I think there were crushes, but I wasn’t on the train.”
Aguilera admitted that it was actually Timberlake whom she and Spears had their sights on. “He had swag,” she explained. She also revealed that Gosling had a crush on Spears at the time. Upon hearing this, Corden remarked: “She (Britney) must be regretting that.”

Aguilera’s other hits such as “Genie in a Bottle” and “Beautiful” were also played. As always, Aguilera hit the highest notes with ease.
Corden and McCarthy may have failed in hitting the high notes, but they sure had a high, jamming with the superstar singer. JB
