Sarah Lahbati laments body-shaming of her pregnancy: ‘What happened to women supporting each other?’
Even while pregnant, actress Sarah Lahbati has not been spared of criticism being thrown at her about her body.
On Instagram, she struck a pose while being aglow in her sixth month of pregnancy, as she attended Preview’s Best Dressed Ball.
But despite attending a happy occasion, Lahbati could not help but address online bashers who refuse to give her a break. The actress did not hold back and lamented about her situation, raising the issue of how other women would insult her with words such as “Ang taba mo,” (you are fat) and “Ang laki mo” (you are big).
“Did you forget that I am carrying a child?!” she remarked.
The actress also raised that she is not the only one who has experienced body-shaming, even from fellow women: “What happened to women supporting each other? Praising each other as mothers?”
“Why can’t we accept that our bodies are made to change during pregnancy because there is a growing baby inside?! Respect pregnant women and think before you judge or open your mouth,” Lahbati appealed via her Twitter page.

Ending on a light note, the actress encouraged mothers-to-be like her to focus on their baby by “staying positive, happy and mind our own business.”
Netizens were quick to rally behind her, urging her to brush off bashers who body-shame her.
Lahbati is currently expecting her second child, another boy, with fiancé actor Richard Gutierrez. The baby will follow their four-year-old son Zion. JB
