The second season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” has certainly lived up to expectations, with most fans wishing it could have had more episodes.

Although Netflix has yet to officially confirm a third season, the sci-fi spectacle’s massive popularity will indeed warrant a third, or perhaps even more follow-ups.

“It’s not necessarily going to be bigger in scale,” Matt told IndieWire. “What I am really excited about is giving these characters an interesting journey to go on.”

With season 2 offering more character development for several key personalities from the show, the directing duo promises  “something almost weirdly more intimate” and “a lot of fun” for season 3.

“Even if we didn’t want to deal with [puberty], we have to deal with it because our real-life actors are going through it,” Ross said in a separate report from Entertainment Weekly.

“I think that’s exciting because it forces the show to evolve and become something different every year.”

Despite the massive hype, the pair confirmed that season 3 is in its early stage of development and has yet to start the filming process.

“It’s really just Matt and me working with some writers and figuring out where it’s going to go,” Ross shared.  Khristian Ibarrola /ra
