WATCH: ’Stranger Things’ cast relives audition tapes

If you still haven’t seen season two of Netflix’s hit sci-fi series “Stranger Things,” well, it’s your loss.

These days, the adorable teens Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Caleb McLoughlin (Lucas Sinclair) and Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson) have become household names for their work with the show.

But prior to snagging their career-defining roles, the teen stars had to go through a rigorous audition process much like everyone else.

In an appearance on Netflix’s special after-show series “Beyond Stranger Things,” the quintet sat through a cringe-worthy montage of their audition tapes for the show.

Looking as young as ever, the boys—ages 10 to 13 at the time—played the part where they tried to convince Nancy (Natalia Dyer) about the eerie happenings in their fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, back in season one.

Brown watched in horror as she marveled at her grieving audition scene.

“Look how depressed I look!” she chuckled, to which Wolfhard responded: “You look like Susan Sarandon.”
