JoshLia all set for new movie by ‘That Thing Called Tadhana’ director
Rising Kapamilya love team Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto will be doing a new movie under “the blockbuster hugot director of the Philippines,” Antoinette Jadaone.
Following the success of Barretto and Garcia’s Metro Manila Film Festival 2016 entry “Vince & Kath & James”, the love team is expected to top-bill a much-anticipated Jadaone film. Other than that, not much was revealed during the film’s recent story conference, as reported by their Kapamilya home network.
“Sobrang excited na ako. Hindi lang sa character. Excited ako maka-work si direk. Siyempre magsasama ulit kami ni Julia,” Garcia said.
(I’m very excited, not just with the character, but also for having the chance to work with the director. I’m also excited to be working again, of course, with Julia.)
However, Jadaone spilled the beans about a few details on the film’s plot.

Si Joshua, hindi siya naniniwala sa aliens pero dahil nagustuhan niya si Julia sa unang pagkakita niya, na-endear siya sa kanya, so sinakyan niya ‘yung pagkagusto ni Julia sa aliens.”
(It’s about a guy who will meet a very weird lady, [a somewhat] crazy lady, that because she’s too weird, she believes in aliens. Joshua does not believe in aliens, but since he’ll like Julia instantly, he rides along Julia’s fascination for aliens.)
Nothing romantic going on just yet
Fans are ecstatic over the love team of JoshLia, as they’re known, but both stars admit there is nothing romantic going on between them. Yet.
“Sayang kasi ‘yung trabaho. Eventually. Sana naman. Nandoon pa kasi kami sa nagtatrabaho kami, kasi gusto muna namin mag-focus. Sayang ‘yung opportunity,” Garcia said.
(Work is our priority. Eventually. I hope so. [Right now,] we are at a stage where we just want to focus on work. We don’t want to waste the opportunity.) JB
