Okay, this happened sometime ago, but we couldn’t resist telling the story:
Legendary Singer just got out of jail. Notorious Personality paid LS a visit during the welcome-back-to-society party – which wasn’t exactly an innocent gathering.
NP whispered to LS: “Do you have extra stash? My boss [Veteran Star], needs a hit, badly.”
LS had been in jail precisely on account of illegal drugs and NP and VS couldn’t wait! Needless to say, NP went home empty-handed.
No-show starlet
Sexy Starlet was supposed to grace the lunchtime event organized by a company she’s endorsing.
Two hours after the appointed time, SS was still nowhere in sight. Handlers tripped all over themselves explaining that SS had finished work very late the night before and could not make it earlier than, say, 3 p.m.
Some guests, including members of the press, walked out – and who can blame them? Seems someone messed up SS’ schedule big time.
Juday, Coco in ‘ASAP’
FEATURED guests Gary V and son Gab brought the house down during Tupperware’s recent bash for top dealers.
Judy Ann Santos and Coco Martin are special guests on “ASAP Rocks” today. The hit Sunday musical variety program starts at 12:15 p.m.
JLo returning to ‘Idol’
NEW YORK – An executive producer of the hit reality TV show “American Idol” says celebrity judge Jennifer Lopez will return for another season.
Lopez hasn’t said anything.
But executive producer Nigel Lythgoe was on the “On-Air with Ryan Seacrest” program on Wednesday morning and made the announcement. He acknowledged it wasn’t official, but added he was “delighted to say all three judges” and the show’s “brilliant host” will be back.
Seacrest is the show’s host. Singer-actress Lopez debuted as a judge this past season. The other judges are Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler and record producer Randy Jackson.

MJ tribute in Britain
LOS ANGELES – Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Motown veteran Smokey Robinson will perform at a Michael Jackson tribute concert in Britain in October, organizers have announced.
Several of the brothers of the late King of Pop will also take the stage, as well as British acts Leona Lewis, Craig David and pop band JLS.
Promoters of the “Michael Forever” concert said other big names would be announced later for the October 8 event at a stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
The concert, which has the backing of Jackson’s mother Katherine and the singer’s siblings LaToya, Tito, Jackie and Marlon, will be broadcast around the world in both 2D and 3D on pay television and into movie theaters. Proceeds will go to AIDS and other charities.
Fans should register in advance for tickets, starting on Thursday, and to pledge a donation to charity. Reuters
A name at last
NEW YORK – Vanity Fair magazine has identified the mystery woman seen kissing Elvis Presley at a backstage theater stairwell in an iconic 1956 photograph.
Barbara Gray, now 75 and living in Charleston, S.C., told the magazine she didn’t reveal her identity for money or fame. “I just wanted to get my name on the damn picture.”
Gray said she was fed up with being tagged the “unknown woman in the wings” with a young Elvis at a stairwell at the Mosque Theater in Richmond, Virginia. Photographer Alfred Wertheimer said he never asked for the woman’s name.
After newspaper coverage of Wertheimer’s photography exhibit at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. in early 2010 showed him standing in front of the photograph called “The Kiss,” Gray tracked him on Facebook and sent him a message: “I’m the girl. ‘The Kiss.’”
Wertheimer, who had heard the same claim from many women before, didn’t respond at first. Gray’s claim was aired on radio and found its way to Vanity Fair, which authenticated her claim. While her own photos from the mid-1950s are nearly mirror images of the woman in the photo and her recollections of the time and place were accurate, the clincher was Gray’s height. She is only four feet, 11 inches, the same as the woman in the picture.
“God he’s beautiful,” Gray recalled thinking when she met Presley, then 21, at his hotel in Richmond. But she said she found him “kind of insecure.” After the show, Gray and Presley kissed in the stairwell. Reuters
