The English actresses will be joined by Jack Lowden, who will portray the famed Mr. Darcy.

“Pride and Prejudice” will be written by British author and screenwriter Dolly Alderton, who is best known for her book “Everything I Know About Love” and was a story producer for the reality series “Made in Chelsea.” Meanwhile, it will be directed by Euros Lyn, who worked on the hit series “Heartstopper,” and episodes of “Black Mirror,” “Doctor Who,” and “Sherlock.”

“Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story, and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy — it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life,” Alderton said in a statement, per The Hollywood Reporter.

This marks the latest adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice,” which was originally an 1813 novel by Jane Austen, which tells the story of Elizabeth Bennet, who learns to distinguish between superficial goodness and heartfelt goodness, and its pros and cons. The novel also covers the turbulent romance of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, who has long admired the former’s independence and strong-willed personality.

Other popular adaptations of the novel include the 2005 film adaptation starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen, and the 1995 film where Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth were the leads.

While Corrin and Colman appeared in multiple films and dramas throughout their careers, they became known to the general public after starring as the young Diana Spencer and the middle-aged Queen Elizabeth II in the hit series “The Crown.”
