Beauty queen Pia Wurtzbach has responded to the hateful remarks being thrown at her and other women, even those pitting her against others who are also attending international fashion shows.

In the comment section of her Instagram reel during her arrival at 2024 Paris Fashion Week, Wurtzbach called out the netizens who tend to put out hurtful comments to people, specifically those who start a clash between women.

“I’ve been seeing all these nasty comments, below the belt name calling, and accusations aimed towards others. I think we all need to be reminded that this bickering, pitting women against each other, and pointing fingers isn’t right. Please stop fighting,” she wrote.

The Miss Universe 2015 affirmed that it is not her advocacy as a beauty queen to bring other people down, and those who support her should do the same.

“I want to ask everyone, my supporters especially, as I always did even years ago during my Binibini or Miss Universe days, please do not pull other people down, lest to defend me. That is not what I want. And that’s not what I stand for,” she said.

Wurtzbach underscored that everyone’s effort should not be used against them, as the world is big enough for everyone to have a space to shine.

“Let’s respect each other and the work being put in by everyone — and not ruin it just because people online can’t get along. There is so much room in this world for everyone to shine.” she remarked.

Despite not naming anyone, it’s been visible in the comment section that the netizens have been comparing Wurtzbach to Heart Evangelista, who is a mainstay in fashion weeks. The hate train between the two women began when the beauty queen allegedly stole Evangelista’s former glam team.

Wurtzbach recently secured the sixth spot in the “most visible influencers” in Milan Fashion Week after yielding USD2.95 million (or PHP166.9 million) in earned media value (EMV), as reported by an influencer marketing platform, Lefty.

Meanwhile, Evangelista opened the show for Vietnamese designer Phan Huy at Paris Fashion Week.
