Rihanna ‘got paid $6 million’ for ‘boring’ performance at Indian wedding
Best-selling artist Rihanna drew flak after netizens slammed her for her “lazy” full-show performance at a pre-wedding celebration hosted by Asia’s richest man, billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani, for his son, Anant Ambani and his bride, Radhika Merchant, in Jamnagar, India.
The “Umbrella” singer marked her first full-show performance in eight years after she was tapped to headline an act for the private wedding, where she was reportedly paid around $6 million for her attendance, as reported by Page Six and Daily Mail UK.
Despite the fact that many fans rejoiced to see the award-winning singer once again on stage, critics took the opportunity to call out Rihanna after some clips from her 90-minute set at the wedding circulated online, with some calling it a “bare minimum” and “boring” show.
“I used to think that Rihanna just didn’t care about her performances but then I realized she’s just bad at it and she has a big enough ego while being insulated by yes people that she doesn’t see that she’s below average in this area,” wrote one Reddit user.
“Pissed because she was paid millions for this performance and she is giving such “damn here you go” energy she looks so beautiful but it’s not giving rehearsed for very long or really that invested in giving a professional well thought out performance,” argued another netizen.

After the performance, Rihanna was seen mingling with the other guests, and in another clip, she was approached by Paparazzi, where she said, “The show was the best. I haven’t done a real show in eight years.”
Despite her appearances at the Oscars and the Super Bowl halftime performance last year, the “We Found Love” singer hasn’t done a full-on concert since her Anti-World Tour in 2016. Her wedding performance set list reportedly has 19 songs.
