Ken Chan asserts amid estafa case against him: ‘Hindi ako nanloko ng tao’
Ken Chan broke his silence on the syndicated estafa filed against him, stressing that he actually put up a business and did not just “solicit” money.
The actor addressed such accusations through an official statement released on his Instagram page on Thursday, Nov. 14. Chan began by admitting that his and his partners’ café business, which had three branches, suffered financial losses and shut down.
“Hindi po ako nanloko ng tao, naitayo po ang negosyo ngunit hindi ito nagtagumpay,” he said. (I did not deceive people. We put up the business but it failed.)
“Hindi po dahil ito ang amount na isinampa laban sa akin ay ito na ang buong katotohanan,” he continued, apparently referring to the P14 million the complainant allegedly invested in the actor’s business. (Just because they stated a certain amount in their complaint does not mean it’s the truth.)
(I will reveal the actual amount as well as the details that they exaggerated in the statements they released.)

(Just give me some time and the truth behind what happened to the company will be revealed. I did not just solicit money and deceive people.)
(Café Claus suffered financial losses and a huge factor that contributed to it was a few business partners who aimed for it to fail to taint my reputation. I believe that I will overcome this through God’s mercy.)
Chan further denied that he is on the run as he asked his supporters to continue to pray for him.
“Lumalaban po ako at hindi tumatakbo palayo sa isinampang kaso sa akin,” he said. (I am fighting and I am not running from the cases filed against me.)

The police had attempted to serve the actor’s arrest warrant at his Quezon City residence twice, but failed as the actor was reportedly not home during both instances.
