Shaira Diaz and EA Guzman reveal they’re engaged

Shaira Diaz and Edgar Allan “EA” Guzman revealed they have been engaged since 2021, after eight years of being together.
During Guzman’s guest appearance on “Unang Hirit” earlier today, Feb. 16, the couple announced their engagement that took place on Dec. 25, 2021.
“Yes, mga Kapuso and ‘UH’ fam, Shaira and I are engaged,” the actor officially announced, with Diaz holding up her ring.
When asked why they kept their engagement private for almost three years, Guzman underscored that he respected the actress-host’s timeline.
“I respect Shaira a lot,” he said. “Ni-respect ko lang ‘yung time niya. I know pag nag-propose ako, baka mag-no siya sa ‘kin, that’s the truth. Pero naniwala ako sa pagmamahal niya and alam niya pag nag-propose ako sa kanya, pag nag-yes siya, I’m willing to wait sa right time niya, sa gusto niyang goal namin na pupuntahan, I’ll wait for her.”
The “Lovers & Liars” actress remarked that now is the right time to announce the engagement as she stressed she is now ready to build a family with her long-term boyfriend.
“Readying-ready na ‘ko. Ready na ‘ko gumawa ng pamilya in the future, [and] makasama siya habang buhay. Sobrang ready na ‘ko, gusto ko nang ipagsigawan sa mundo kung gano kami nagmamahalan, kung gano ko siya ka-mahal,” Diaz stated.
In 2023, the actress declared in an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” that she wanted to marry Guzman after her college graduation, which is scheduled this coming August.
“Pagka-graduate po, siguro kahit isang taon na ipon muna, para lang ready kami parehas, hindi kami pupulutin sa kangkungan. Para magawa namin yung dream wedding namin, gusto ko may ipon kami parehas, hindi lang siya, hindi lang ako,” she remarked.
In 2012, the two first met at a reality show, and a year later, they officially became a couple. They will be celebrating their 11th anniversary on Saturday, Feb. 17.
