BLIND ITEM: Actress would rather play it safe than be ‘misquoted’
Irascible Star (IS) isn’t known for either her eloquence or her friendly nature. In fact, quite a number of fellow celebs have had “unpleasant run-ins” with IS, like Seasoned Host (SH) who despises her because of a painfully embarrassing moment SH’s husband had to endure when he once crossed paths with IS in a restaurant.
But IS has reached a certain stature in the biz that has empowered her enough to be comfortable in her own skin and her perceived “inadequacies”—like where answering questions in English is concerned.
In fact, IS allegedly rarely seeks out interviews with English broadsheets because she is wary of getting misquoted when her answers in Tagalog end up getting lost in translation. And that is why she’s more at home being surrounded by show biz scribes who expect her to answer in her native tongue. How’s that for self-preservation?
