‘Masama ba akong tao?’
An emotional Heart Evangelista opened up about the “damage” caused to her by people she was once close to in her vlog on Jan. 25, admitting she needs to be “perfect” because she is usually “painted as a bad person.”
While preparing for an event, Evangelista spoke to her team and recalled being with people who made her feel that she was a “toxic” person.
“In the past, whenever I get problems, like personal problems, I couldn’t even be in a bad mood because they would make me feel like I’m so toxic,” she said, without naming anyone in particular.
She stressed that she tried to be bubbly to “fight” her problems but at the same time, she felt she deserved to be in such a state because she believed she was “problematic and toxic to everyone.”
“But because parang they paint you like you’re such a bad person… So parang you have to be extra perfect to people around you,” she added, noting how those people “really destroyed [her] inner joy.”
Evangelista seemed to have hinted as well that those who wronged her work in the same field as hers. “I’m still struggling because I wish I wouldn’t have to see them, but parang dinumihan nila ‘yung part ng area kung saan ako nagta-trabaho, na nandyan sila… Of course, I’ll get over it but I guess [it’s because I’m] with them for such a long time.”
“Meron din akong inner debate na if I have the power to choose kasi merong mga times na tumatapang ako, pero ang problem ko don is [tinatanong ko ‘yung sarili ko], ‘Masama ba akong tao?’ [Kasi] hindi naman ako ganito dati e, tapos parang ngayon kailangan ko maging masamang tao,” she added.
She, however, opted not to reveal who she was referring to, although she had a falling-out with Jeck Aguilar and Justin Louise Soriano, who were previously part of her glam team.
Willie Revillame ready to run for senator
Willie Revillame declared he’s ready to run for senator in the 2025 midterm elections during a prayer rally in Davao last Jan. 28, saying he had previously been offered by then President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go a spot in their party’s senatorial lineup.
He, however, denied their offer due to contractual obligations with the show “Wowowin.” “Sabi ko, ‘Mahal na pangulo, meron pa po akong kontrata at hindi ko pa po kaya. Pag handa na po ako, pag-iisipan ko.’ Sabi nila, ‘Kung ano ang nasa puso mo, sundin mo. Kung ano ang nasa isip mo, ‘yan ang sundan mo.’ Hindi po nila ako pinilit.”
Revillame said his decision was made after long days of prayers, deep thinking, and deep consideration for Duterte and Go’s trust.
“Dapat hindi pulitiko ang tawag sa mga nagsisilbi sa bayan. Dapat ang tawag sa kanya ay publiko-serbisyo. Public servant. Dahil kapag nahaluan ng pulitiko, nandyan ang away, nandyan ang ego. Ang sarap ng isang bansang na walang nag-aaway, walang kulay na pinipili. Nagkakaisa, nagmamahalan… Ipinagdasal ko ‘tong mabuti. Kung ano po ang desisyon ninyo, palagay ko handa na ako,” he said.
The “Wowowin” host declared that he’s ready to do good for his countrymen and thanked Durterte for the trust.
Before his announcement, talks of Revillame’s show transferring to PTV4 caught wind in various circles after photos of his visit to its headquarters in Quezon City and the Presidential Communications Operations Office made rounds on social media. Details of his show have yet to be disclosed to the public, as of this writing.
Chanda Romero’s relationship with Bernardo Bernardo
Chanda Romero looked back on her relationship with the openly gay late actor Bernardo Bernardo, noting that sexual preferences didn’t matter because they loved each other.
In a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview last Jan. 25, Romero said that the love relationship she had with Bernardo was different from the relationships she had with other straight men. “That was different because I think looking back, that was very special because ‘yun ang talagang I loved him as he was.”
Romero also recalled that she was supportive when Bernardo was attracted to other people, and that their romance was more than their sexuality.
“Minsan nga kapag sinasabi niya na, ‘Meron akong bagong crush diyan,’ ‘Hindi! Samahan kita, tingnan ko muna. Kailangan i-approve ko muna,” she said. “When Bernardo loved me when we were together, it was one of the few times that I knew it was love between the both of us. And it was taboo. We were just so unafraid and so proud of having found each other. We were both happy.”
Romero has been married to Jose Mari “Mayi” Alejandrino since 2013, while Bernardo died in March 2018 due to a tumor in his pancreas.
Kris Aquino pitches Bimby, Josh to model
Kris Aquino recommended her sons Bimby and Josh to model for the clothing line of celebrity stylist friend Patty Yap following her statement that Bimby would return to the Philippines to work and help with her medical bills, as seen in Aquino’s response to the latter’s comment on Instagram.
“Patty, Bimb can model for your line as well as Kuya Josh (he’s already lost 60 lbs)… Do you realize we’ve known each other for 16 years? Because Bimb was a toddler, Alexa would knock on our door to ask if he could play. Next time you’re here, please visit?” said Aquino.
Aquino, who revealed she has an onset lupus, has been battling with multiple autoimmune diseases since 2018. Despite this, she is determined to fight the illness for her two sons.
Jackie Lou Blanco’s guilt
Jackie Lou Blanco opened up about a past relationship following her separation from husband Ricky Davao, a romance that didn’t work out or last long because it was not what she said was the “right kind.”
Sitting down with Amy Austria in a vlog, Blanco admitted that she was in a relationship after her split from Davao, but she felt that it was “wrong” possibly since they weren’t annulled. She, however, didn’t disclose his identity.
“I was separated from Ricky for a long time and I was in a relationship but that relationship was not good. It was not the right kind of relationship and the Lord convicted me and that was the time that I said, ‘Lord, hindi ko talaga kaya. I can’t do it on my own. I cannot step out of this so you have to take me out of this relationship. You have to do it for me kasi hindi ko kaya,” she said.
“You know how He did it? He made me feel so guilty when I was with that person. I would feel so guilty, I would look for reasons to say, ‘I cannot meet up with you’… And you know He did. Parang nawala nalang yung communication, it just happened. Parang I woke up one day and then wala na,” she said.
Blanco also shared that up to now she would still feel some waves of regret and shame about that previous relationship, but she also acknowledged that she is now at peace and in a better place than where she was before.
Blanco married Davao in 1989, and but reportedly separated in 2011. Last year, the actress expressed regrets over their separation, but the actor said that it was a situation that needed “acceptance and moving on.” The latter is currently in a relationship with a non-showbiz girlfriend.
