Hollywood star Rachel McAdams said she wasn’t present on the ‘Mean Girls’ commercial where every main character was there because commercials are not her cup of tea.

Talking to Variety, McAdams revealed that she was more into the idea of doing a reunion movie than a commercial, noting that she also wasn’t aware everyone was going to participate.

“I don’t know; I guess I wasn’t that excited about doing a commercial, if I’m being totally honest. A movie sounded awesome, but I’ve never done commercials, and it just didn’t feel like my bag,” she opened up.

“Also, I didn’t know that everyone was doing it. I would, of course, always love to be part of a ‘Mean Girls’ reunion and hang with my plastics, but yeah, I found that out later,” revealed the actress.

In November, Walmart released a holiday campaign advertisement that saw Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Daniel Franzese and Rajiv Surendra reprise their iconic roles in the 2004 movie.

Despite the commercial receiving fun reviews as it lands on the “so fetch” dynamics that is one of the things that the original movie popularized, fans can’t help but look for McAdams, who played Regina George, the most popular character in the movie.

In an interview with People Magazine, the three stars who appeared in the ad shared that it is nice to have the chance to reunite with their cast members.

“It was so nice being back together after all these years. It was great catching up with everyone,” said Lohan, who played Cady Heron.

“It was wonderful to spend the day with Amanda and Lindsay, and it was so much fun getting to reminisce and be together again,” added Chabert as Gretchen Wieners.

Other than the commercial, a new ‘Mean Girls’ musical is set for release in January 2024. In this project, all lead stars will not partake aside from Tinay Fey and Tim Meadows, who will return as Ms. Norbury and Principal Duval, respectively.
