Her recent controversial P1,000 weekly budget meal plan aside, one can easily describe Neri Naig as an enterprising woman who aspires to not only build a successful enterprise for her family, but to also share her technical know-how to other women. But what most people do not know, the past years have seen the better half of Parokya Ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda dip her toes into a variety of businesses ventures — from selling bottled gourmet tuyo, to restaurant franchises, to bed-and-breakfast establishments.

Neri’s Gourmet Tuyo

Neri’s Gourmet Tuyo currently has several distributors across the country and even some from abroad — in the US and Canada. Aside from the original variant, her dried fish in olive oil product also comes in spicy and extra hot flavor. Moreover, Naig also sells gourmet crab paste and her own vinegar, Ang Paboritong Suka ng Asawa Ko — which has a fermented version.

The celebrity mom, who also sold baked goods such as breads and donuts through Neri’s Bakeshop, has also ventured into the dining scene. She, along with business partners including her musician husband, are co-owners of several food establishments.

Jaytee’s Filipino Cuisine

Last year, Naig shared on Instagram that she and Miranda are now co-owners of the 8th branch of Jaytee’s Filipino Cuisine, a restaurant chain from another husband-and-wife duo. A post from Miranda earlier in the year seemingly suggested that they are also involved with the restaurant’s 9th branch.

Prior to Naig’s announcement, she also shared in late 2020 that the pair had become part owners of the restaurant’s Alfonso branch, although she mentioned in her more recent post that the 8th branch is the couple’s first Jaytee’s branch.

Jeju Samgyupsal

Aside from offering favorite local dishes, the “Star Circle Quest” alum also serves Korean food in Jeju Samgyupsal. She co-owns the Korean restaurant, which currently has two locations in Cebu.

Amare La Cucina

The couple also co-own branches of Amare La Cucina, a restaurant that serves “Italian-inspired” dishes. Even before being co-owners of branches such as the one in Nuvali, Miranda has previously shared that the restaurant, which started in Baguio City, is a favorite of theirs.

Lime and Basil

Aside from Filipino, Korean, and Italian dishes, Naig has also added Thai to the list of cuisines her food businesses offer with the opening of a Baguio location for Lime and Basil. Among its three locations, the main branch is the one situated in Alfonso, Cavite.

Wais Home Inc.

From paying heed to the cravings of Pinoys, the business administration graduate has also managed to figuratively enter her consumers’ household through her line of cleaning supplies.

She started Wais Home Inc. by introducing a sponge, which would later be followed by a dishwashing liquid and several other products, especially after the acquisition of Value Valley. According to Naig, the former owner of Value Valley — which is also a brand of cleaning products — contacted her about taking over the company as she has already moved to the US. At present, Naig already has several distributors and resellers from different parts of the Philippines.

The Hillside House

After revealing last year the purchase of a house in Baguio, the Miranda family’s two-bedroom rest house, The Hillside House, has been opened to the public for quite some time already. The pet-friendly accommodation offers amenities such as a kitchen area with appliances such as a microwave and refrigerator space for outdoor dining, and a work area, among others. The place also has air conditioning and Wi-Fi.

Miranda’s Rest House

Aside from their rest house in the City of Pines, their family still runs Miranda’s Rest House in Alfonso, Cavite. There are four units that are being rented out, including two barkada units. The rest house also has a swimming pool and a pavilion for events. Aside from the usual staycations, Miranda’s Rest House has been a venue for birthdays, team buildings, and other activities or special occasions.

Neri’s Cottage

Several years ago, Miranda bought his better half a house that was originally intended to be a workspace for her dried fish business. The mom of three decided to have the place renovated, and it eventually became Neri’s Cottage. Before opening its doors to the public, Naig held her baby shower there in 2016. According to her, Neri’s Cottage has also been witness to wedding proposals. Its social media pages haven’t posted an update for a few years, and Naig has also mentioned in a YouTube video that she’s thinking of using the accommodation as a studio or office.

ExtraordiNeri

Although unplanned, Naig has also ventured into the salon industry last year with the launch of ExtraordiNeri Salon in a mall in Tagaytay. Speaking of the unexpected business venture, Naig shared that an existing salon was offered to her, as its owner will be migrating to another country. She added how the staff hoped that she would take on the business and keep them employed.

ExtraordiNeri is also in Cebu; but instead of offering haircuts, the salon provides manicure and pedicure, as well as massage, threading, and waxing.

VERY NERI

Before getting into the salon industry, Naig also sold various items under her VERY NERI line. She offered items such as beddings, sleepwear, aprons, bridal wear, and also accessories such as headbands and hair clips. She also produced a planner for the year 2021, which she entitled “The Wais Planner,” and promoted it as a product of StatioNeri.

Wais na Misis Productions

Naig has also built her own production team for Wais na Misis Productions. She previously shared how Wais Na Misis Productions has been involved in shoots for brands. In its Facebook page, the company mentioned covering her older son, Miggy’s 4th birthday celebration a few years ago. The company’s name has also appeared in her vlogs.

Wais Communications Inc.

With different brands approaching her, Naig has also decided to take on the responsibility of being their family’s manager, at the helm of overseeing their endorsements. In December 2022, she introduced her management agency Wais Communications Inc. She also shared that the idea to start the company came from ABS-CBN head of entertainment production Laurenti Dyogi. The company’s first project was with a popular fast-food chain.

Earlier in the year, Naig delighted her followers as she teased the upcoming return of Neri’s Secret Garden. It is unsure whether it’s a different venture from Neri’s Not So Secret Garden, which is also where their franchise of Tea Talk milk tea is located. Described as a “unique events place in Alfonso, Cavite,” the space, according to her, will feature an amphitheater which can accommodate over 300 people.

The joint social media pages of their franchise of Tea Talk and Neri’s Not So Secret Garden — which has “bilao meals” — have yet to upload a new post since last year.

Meanwhile, before the 40-year-old mompreneur’s upcoming book “Wais Na Misis: The Wise Homemaker” could help guide fellow moms navigate “motherhood and entrepreneurship,” her now-deleted post of a sample P1000 weekly meal plan received criticisms from some netizens.

The bashing toward his better half prompted Miranda to explain the context of Naig’s proposed meal plan, sharing that it followed a weekly meal plan posted weeks prior. “[S]ince it was intended for those who already knew what she was doing, she made the crucial mistake of not filling in the details,” said “The Voice Generations” coach, who also mentioned that his wife had stated that “the meal plan was merely a guide.” EDV
