Neri Naig gives away seeds after P1,000 meal plan drew flak: ‘Maraming paraan sa taong madiskarte’

After sharing her P1,000 weekly meal plan that drew mixed reactions from netizens, Neri Naig announced that she will be giving away free vegetable seeds to share her blessings.
In a now-deleted post, Naig showed a sample of her meal plan that includes a grocery list and a variety of dishes to be served within a week. While the celebrity mom has already taken down her post, screenshots of it have been re-uploaded on social media.

This was greeted with criticisms from netizens who branded Naig’s meal plan as “unrealistic” and “out of touch with reality,” which prompted her to clarify that she gets her eggs and vegetables for free.

“Sorry, ‘di ko nalagay sa post na ‘to na kunin ang mga sayote and other gulay sa bakuran… Sa amin po, madalas free po ang mga eggs. Tapos ‘yung vegetables and fruits namin [kasi] mahilig po akong magtanim,” she later added in her Facebook post.
(Sorry, I wasn’t able to put in the post that my vegetables were from my garden. We also usually get our eggs for free. I love planting so we get our vegetables and fruits [for free].)
Naig also underscored, “Maraming paraan para makatipid. Umpisahan na para maging wais sa buhay.” (There are a lot of ways to save money. Start now so you can also be smart in life.)

In a separate post, Naig said that she will be sending vegetable seeds to some of her followers as she urged them to have an edible garden at home.
“Ang dami kong vegetable seeds! Sinong may gusto? Kahit walang bakuran, pwede magtanim sa paso,” she stated. “Dali, mamimigay ako ng mga seeds! Para mabawasan ang stress ng mga nagba-budget sa bahay.”
(I have so many vegetable seeds! Who wants some? Even if you do not have a backyard, you can plant in pots. Hurry, I will give away seeds to reduce the stress of those handling the budgeting in their homes.)
“Kung pwede rin sana mga eggs namin sa farm kaso baka mabasag pagdating sa inyo eh,” she added. “Sharing is caring. Sharing good vibes at sharing blessings.”
Naig further noted that even with little spaces in their homes, netizens can try planting by using pots and water containers.
