Dolly de Leon came to Kathryn Bernado’s defense weeks after a video showing the latter holding a vape went viral on social media, pointing out that it was meant to be a “spoiler” for their upcoming film “A Very Good Girl.”

De Leon explained during a Cristy Ferminute interview last Tuesday, August 1, that the Kapamilya star was using a vape as preparation for a scene in “A Very Good Girl,” while speculating the video must have been a leak of their film.

“‘Yung kwento ng vape? Ah, ‘yung may hawak [si Kathryn Bernardo] ng vape? Okay. Spoiler [‘yan] tuloy dahil lumabas ‘yung may nag-video na sa kanya na nagve-vape siya dahil may eksena naman talaga na magve-vape siya. At may eksena ring magsi-sigarilyo ako. Kaya pina-practice niya paano gamitin ‘yung vape. ‘Yun talaga ang nangyari d’un,” she said.

“Unfortunately, spoiler po siya kasi may tao d’un. Actually, bawal ‘yun eh, ‘yung mga nagpi-picture habang nagsho-shoot. Bawal po talaga. Kung gusto nilang mag-picture, edi sana hindi na lang nila pinost,” she continued.

(The story of the vape? Oh, when Kathryn Bernardo was holding a vape? Okay. The video is a spoiler because someone took a video of her using a vape even if it’s meant to be just a scene in the film. There’s also a scene of me using a cigarette. This is why she’s practicing how to use a vape. That is what really happened. Unfortunately, it’s a spoiler because someone was there. Actually, people taking photos during filming is not allowed. It’s really not allowed. If you really want to take a picture, they shouldn’t have posted it.)

Despite this, the Golden Globe nominee then pointed out that Bernardo shouldn’t be criticized for vaping and drinking since she is already a “grown woman.”

“Kailangan niyang i-practice kasi hindi siya marunong mag-vape. Pero kung nagve-vape at kung umiinom na talaga siya, siguro naman okay lang dahil nasa edad na siya. Nasa legal age na siya para gawin ‘yun (She has to practice using a vape because she doesn’t know how to use it. But if she’s indeed vaping and drinking, it’s okay because she’s at the right age. She’s at the legal age),” she said.

During the interview, the “Triangle of Sadness” star also spoke about the cast party for their film, as she stressed that they’re “allowed” to celebrate behind the scenes, as they’ve wrapped up filming.

“Tsaka ‘yung inom namin na ‘yun, party namin ‘yun. Kasi natapos namin ‘yung shoot, pinaghirapan po namin. Reward namin ‘yun sa isa’t isa, parang celebration. Diba ganun naman tayo kapag may achievement? Nagce-celebrate naman tayo nang may alak,” she said.

(And we drank during our party because filming wrapped up. We did our best. It’s our reward for one another since it’s a celebration. Shouldn’t we celebrate our achievements? We celebrate with drinks.)

In a separate interview with INQUIRER.net, de Leon said she’s “excited” for the movie since it will focus around women empowerment.

“Ang sarap (It’s so nice). Kasi you know naman with us women, we’ve been struggling through the years in this man’s world. So, it’s about time that we grab the reins of power because we have that in us,” she said.
