Inka Magnaye voices Scarab in PH release of superhero film ‘Blue Beetle’
Content creator Inka Magnaye is confirmed as one of the voice talents of the Philippine release of the upcoming superhero film “Blue Beetle,” where she’s set to voice the character Scarab.
Scarab is an “ancient alien relic pivotal” to Blue Beetle’s story and was originally voiced by singer-actress Becky G, according to a statement from Warner Bros. Philippines.
“The Scarab, called Khaji-Da, guides Jaime Reyes and helps him discover — and learn to control — his seemingly limitless new powers on his journey to becoming the superhero Blue Beetle,” the film distribution company’s statement read.
Magnaye then confirmed the reports in a post on her personal Instagram page on Wednesday, August 2, where she shared behind-the-scenes photos of herself at what appears to be a recording studio.
“I’M IN A DC MOVIE!! I am wildly honored to announce that I will be the voice of the scarab for the Philippine theatrical release of DC’s new movie, ‘Blue Beetle,’” she said in the caption of her post.

The content creator then shared that it’s one of her “big dreams” to be part of a superhero film, as she said that some of her lines “will be in Tagalog.”
“It’s been one of my big dreams to be a canon part of a superhero world, and now I get to share this wonderful news with all of you!! Some of the lines will be in Tagalog, too,” she said. “Please look out for my name in the credits when Blue Beetle comes out.”
The film, which will premiere on August 16, tells the story of Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) who finds himself “in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology,” who chooses him as its “symbiotic host.”
Magnaye is a familiar name in the voice work industry who was voiced several popular commercial industry work such as Philippine Airlines’ in-flight instructional safety announcement and several brands. She is also the person behind the popular podcast “Sleeping Pill With Inka.” EDV
