Maxene Magalona wants to have one child ‘when God feels it’s time’

Maxene Magalona opened up about her plans of having a child in the future, saying she wants to have just one kid with whom she will share the “kind of love and energy that [she offers].”
The actress spoke about this through her Instagram page on Wednesday, July 5, in response to one @mishyang who asked the former about her thoughts on motherhood and dealing with kids.
“I don’t have kids but I would like to have just one when God feels it’s time,” she began.
“I actually didn’t want a kid before,” she admitted. “But as I matured, I really had to sit with myself and ask my soul if I truly wanted a child. Because I certainly don’t want to bring another soul into this world unconsciously. I don’t want to have kids just because everyone else is doing it.”
Magalona stressed that she is “[moving] at her own pace,” and bared the reason why she wants to parent a child.
“So when I meditated on it, I realized that I would like a child for the sole purpose of passing on what I learned in my journey, and also make the child feel the kind of love and energy that I offer. So that they can also pass it on to the future generations,” she stated.
As to dealing with kids, Magalona noted how she believes “there’s no one formula for parenting” and that raising children would be hard if parents “don’t do the inner work to heal.”
“What I would do is heal and work on my energy because kids don’t follow what we say—they copy the way we behave. They absorb our energy,” she said.
“So, the best way for me to be a parent is to be super conscious so that I can work on myself everyday and be present and emotionally connected to my child,” she added.

This sentiment had some netizens nodding in agreement, including fellow actress Iza Calzado who regards Magalona as her “soul sister.”
“So much we can talk about the next time we connect, my soul sister. Keep preparing, keep healing. God knows when to give you your best teacher,” Calzado said via the comments section.

Magalona confirmed her separation from her former husband Rob Mananquil in October last year. She has been speculated by fans to be in a new relationship after she was seen walking while holding hands with a mystery man inside a mall last April.
Magalona has yet to confirm or deny these speculations as of this writing. /ra
