IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Celebrity moms who celebrated Mother’s Day for first time
For some, motherhood seems to be a puzzle piece that did not only complete a part of them but also made them realize the immensity of love they are capable of offering to another human. This is evident in first-time celebrity moms whose lives—even before welcoming their firstborns—have been an open book.
While being a mother is a celebration in itself, having a whole day dedicated to acknowledging the warmth they give into their homes definitely makes the heart flutter. To mark the occasion, here’s a shout-out to some of the celebrity moms who celebrated Mother’s Day for the first time.
Rihanna
Rihanna gave birth to a son, RZA Athelston Mayers, her first child with rapper A$AP Rocky, in May 2022, but only introduced him to the public in December of the same year. RZA recently celebrated his first birthday.
Meanwhile, the “Diamonds” singer is currently pregnant with their second child.
Park Shin-hye
Korean actors Park Shin-hye and Choi Tae Joon welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on May 31, 2022, four months after the couple tied the knot. The actors have yet to share details about their firstborn as of this writing.

Kitkat, 38, gave birth to her first child Uno Asher in August 2022.

Panganiban, 36, welcomed Amila Sabine, her first child with her partner Gregg Homan, in September 2022. Not long after, the couple announced their engagement and introduced Amila, who the pair fondly calls Bean, to the public.
Ashley Greene
“Twilight” star Greene gave birth to Kingsley Rainn, her first child with husband Paul Khoury, on Sept. 16, 2022.
Melissa Gohing
After initial struggles to get pregnant due to her polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) diagnosis, volleyball player Gohing and her husband, actor Rocco Nacino, welcomed their firstborn son, Ezren Raffaello, in October 2022.
The family of three appear to have celebrated Gohing’s first Mother’s Day by going on a trip to Dubai.

Rebel Wilson
Wilson, 43, introduced her daughter Royce Lillian to the public in November 2022. Royce, whom Wilson described as “a beautiful miracle,” was born via surrogate.
Wilson has been raising her daughter with her partner, fashion designer Ramona Agruma. Wilson and Agruma announced their engagement in February 2023, about a year since they made their relationship public.
Son Ye-jin
“Crash Landing On You” stars Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin officially became parents in November 2022, after the actress gave birth to a baby boy. The couple welcomed their first child eight months after their wedding.
Rita Daniela
Three days before Christmas Day in 2022, Daniela welcomed her son Juan “Uno” Andres, whom she considers the “greatest Christmas gift” she received from God. The 27-year-old actress, who opted to keep private the identity of her son’s father, showed her child’s face for the first time in April 2023.

Iza Calzado
Calzado gave birth to her first child Amihan Deia with her husband Ben Wintle on Jan. 26, 2023, but only announced it in March. The 40-year-old actress introduced the child to the public by revealing her face in April.
Calzado celebrated Mother’s Day by reflecting on the honor of being given “the gift of bringing life to earth,” wishing that her child may be blessed to experience such a gift in the future.

Bianca King
King, 37, announced her firstborn’s birth in March by giving the public a glimpse of the baby. King, who’s married to her non-showbiz husband Ralph Wintle, also seems to be looking forward to having a second child as she declared weeks after that she wants to be pregnant again. Incidentally, her husband’s brother is Ben, who is husband to Iza Calzado.
Trina Legaspi
“Goin’ Bulilit” alum Legaspi, 28, welcomed her first child with her non-showbiz husband, Ryan Jarina in March 2023. Legaspi marked her first Mother’s Day celebration with a mother-and-daughter photoshoot with her daughter Kaela.

The media personality and hotel heiress and her husband Carter Reum welcomed their first child Phoenix Barron in January 2023 via surrogate.
On Mother’s Day, 42-year-old Hilton reflected on how motherhood became the “most incredible experience” she has ever had.
“It’s a love that cannot be put into words, a feeling that I never knew existed until I held my little prince in my arms,” she said. “There is something so special about being a mom, something that I never fully understood until I became one myself.”
Gina Rodriguez
The “Jane the Virgin” actress and her husband Joe LoCicero announced via their representatives in March 2023 that they had welcomed their firstborn. The couple has yet to introduce or reveal the child’s name to the public.
Hilary Swank
Swank, 48, announced the birth of her twins in April 2023. The Oscar-winning actress shares her children, a boy and a girl, with her husband, entrepreneur Philip Schneider.
Erin Darke
Darke and her longtime boyfriend, “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe, confirmed in April 2023 their first child’s birth after the couple were seen in New York, walking while pushing a baby stroller.
Pamu Pamorada
