Filipino-Canadian singer Tyson Venegas has bid farewell to his “American Idol” dream as he ended his journey in the Top 10.

Despite his elimination, the 17-year-old said on his personal Instagram page that it has been an “honor” to be part of the singing contest.
“Thank you so much everyone for all [your love]. Your support means a lot. My @AmericanIdol journey has come to an end but what an honor it has been. [Not gonna lie] I’m gonna miss my new fam,” he said in the caption, as he shared a boomerang clip of himself doing finger hearts.

Ani expressed her support for her fellow competitor in the comments, saying the Filipino-Canadian crooner is a “force to be reckoned with.”
Meanwhile, Venegas’ fans remained supportive of the singer, with some hoping that he would keep moving forward in his singing career.
The results of American Idol’s Top 8 came after the dreaded Judges’ Song Contest, in which judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan chose the tracks that the contestants were to perform in the competition.
Venegas was tasked by Perry to perform a rendition of Lewis Capaldi’s hit ballad “Someone You Loved.”
Among the songs the Filipino-Canadian teen performed during his “Idol” journey were Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind,” Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now,” original song “180,” Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” and Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in My Life.”
Venegas, who competed in “The Voice Teens” season 2 in 2020, caught the attention of “Idol” fans after receiving the first platinum ticket of the show’s 21st season. Following this milestone, he was able to advance to the second round of Hollywood Week while watching the first round from the sidelines. /ra
