Karylle and Markki Stroem wowed fans and fellow celebrities with their portrayal as Baroness Elsa von Schraeder and Rolf, respectively, in the Manila staging of the Broadway musical “The Sound of Music.”
A peek at the actors dressed up as their characters was shown by GMG Productions through its Facebook page on Friday, March 10.
Karylle and Stroem also gave glimpses of themselves performing on stage through a series of posts in their respective Instagram pages.
Karylle’s mom, actress-singer Zsa Zsa Padilla, as well as Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, Janice de Belen and Donny Pangilinan were among the celebrities who showed support for the actors and watched the show.

Karylle and Stroem’s casting in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical was announced last Feb. 17. “The Sound of Music,” based on the life story of the Trapp Family Singers who escaped from Nazi-occupied Austria in the 1930s, will be staged in the country until March 26 as part of its international tour. /ra
