Sharon Cuneta cries foul over ‘fake’ slimming products sold online using her name

Megastar Sharon Cuneta on Wednesday warned her followers and fans about certain slimming products claiming to have her endorsement, or those using impostor accounts to scam people online.
On Instagram, Cuneta, whose official social media accounts have a verified check, claimed the perpetrators behind the false advertisement were misappropriating a video originally produced by celebrity dermatologist Dr. Aivee Teo to show that the actress was able to shed off pounds using their weight-loss products.
Aside from Cuneta, the assailed video also showed actress “The Iron Heart” star Dimples Romana partaking a soup-like cereal, with a screenshot of her supposed Facebook post recommending the product.
“Ingat po kayo! Ginagamit po kaming mga artista ng di namin alam kahit ang produktong ito di naman namin kilala! FAKE PO ITO. Please share and try to inform as many people as you can. Pati si @draivee ginamit din nila nag-edit pa ng mga video namin FAKE PO LAHAT YON LALO SA FACEBOOK! Thank you po!” she said, referring to the fake accounts.

In a separate Instagram post, Cuneta labeled as “fake” a Facebook account that uses her name to sell slimming pills and shows an obviously doctored picture of the veteran star holding a bottle of Keto gel drops.

“This is not my Facebook account. Kindly share and inform as many people ad you can? Thank you again so much. Haaaaaayyyyy….” an obviously exasperated Cuneta said.
This is not the first time that the actress became a victim of identity thieves who use her celebrity in order to scam people into buying their products.
In 2020, Cuneta reported a fake Twitter account bearing her name and picture, but with a different handle.
