Alex Gonzaga appeared to not have dodged the topic about her controversial icing-smearing incident as rapper Andrew E and actress-singer Toni Gonzaga poked fun at the viral video during the latter’s 20th anniversary concert last Jan. 20.
The actress-vlogger previously made headlines after she smeared icing on a waiter’s face during her 35th birthday party, which was captured in a now-deleted video by Dani Barretto. Alex later apologized to the waiter, who was identified by the Gonzaga’s publicist as Allan Crisostomo. She later described the incident as a “lesson in humility and kindness.”
Alex’s “Tropang LOL” co-host Wacky Kiray shared a glimpse of Toni poking fun at her sister’s viral incident during the former’s anniversary concert on his personal Facebook page.
“Pinag-usapan ‘yan for almost three days (It was discussed for almost three days),” Alex said, after doing a rendition of Maymay Entrata’s hit song “Amakabogera”. The stage LED display changed to a parody of Toni’s anniversary concert poster, much to the cheers of the audience.
“Kaya ka pala trending for three days (So that’s why you were trending for three days),” Toni replied.
“Nagbago na ako. Hindi na ako ganun, nakita mo nung birthday ko? (I’ve changed. I am not that way anymore, remember what happened during my birthday?),” Alex said.
“Wala, nilayo namin lahat ng cake sa’yo (Nothing, we made sure that cakes were far from you),” Toni said.
Alex agreed to her sister’s remarks, saying, “Yan ang iniiwasan ko ngayon, mga cake. (I am avoiding cakes now).”
In a separate video by Wacky Kiray, Andrew E was also spotted poking fun at Alex’s viral incident during a “Humanap Ka Ng Panget” performance.
“Sir Andrew, parang ayaw mo na kong katabi (Sir Andrew, it looks like you don’t want to be next to me),” Alex said.
Toni smiled, as she gestured to the rapper, saying, “Natatakot na siya sayo (He’s scared of you).”
“Mahirap na, mahirap na, baka may cake kang dala (It’s hard, it’s hard. You might be bringing a cake with you),” Andrew E responded, doing a freestyle rap about the incident.
The video also showed Alex talking about Toni and Andrew E’s participation at the presidential campaign of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in May 2022, where the phrases “Bagong Pilipinas, Bagong Mukha” and “sabay sabay” were heard. The actress-singer also commented about the campaign in jest, saying “pero nanalo (but we won).”
The publicist of the Gonzaga family said in a statement via TV5’s MJ Marfori that the waiter in Alex’s now-deleted icing-smearing video is a friend of her mother Pinty and the Soriano family. He also clarified that the waiter has been serving the family for years.
Alex Gonzaga’s husband, Lipa, Batangas Councilor Michael “Mikee” Morada, also came to the actress-vlogger’s defense in a Facebook post last Jan. 18, saying she was subjected to netizens’ “rude behavior” following the incident. EDV
