Alex Gonzaga’s husband Mikee Morada comes to her defense after viral birthday cake video
Lipa, Batangas Councilor Michael “Mikee” Morada on Wednesday came to the defense of his wife actress-vlogger Alex Gonzaga who courted the ire of netizens after she smeared cake on the forehead of a waiter during her January 16 birthday party in Pasig City.
On Facebook, Morada broke his silence several days after Gonzaga was at the receiving end of netizes’ outrage for “rude behavior” toward the wait staff, who was later identified as Allan Crisostomo.
Morada said that while there is no excuse to his wife’s actions, she also did not deserve the hurtful, sometimes below-the-belt castigations that they have been receiving on social media, especially as she has already apologized for her slip-up.
Despite her apology, Morada said they expect that many people would still find something insulting to say against Gonzaga, while others were even hurling invectives at her.

Amid all the criticism, Morada said that her wife chose to be silent and has owned up to her mistake.
Humihingi kami ng paumanhin sa inyo,” he said.
Morada also addressed Gonzaga, saying despite this incident, his love for her remains steadfast.
I love you!”
Earlier on Wednesday night, Gonzaga publicly apologized on Instagram, as she reached out to Crisostomo.
