MANILA, Philippines — After bagging the title of Noble Queen of the Universe, actress Patricia Javier seems to be making her mark in the pageant industry with yet another crown on her head.

At a press conference in Quezon City, Javier was proclaimed as the reigning AquaQueen Ambassador of the Ocean, along with the introduction of the new pageant which seeks to find “ocean advocates” who will promote the protection of the seas and oceans of the world.

Javier is currently the national director for the Philippines and the international director of the Noble Queen of the Universe Ltd. Inc. (NQULI). She was earlier crowned Noble Queen of the Universe during this pageant’s inaugural edition in 2019.

For the AquaQueen of the Universe pageant, founder Eren Noche said she chose Javier because they are both ocean advocates.

Javier, however, would soon relinquish her crown to Marjorie Renner as the next AquaQueen Ambassador of the Ocean for 2023. Renner represented the United States in the 2022 Noble Queen of the Universe pageant in Japan last December.

Aside from Renner, two other queens will be chosen from among 15 free diving enthusiasts to bear the title of AquaQueen Ambassador and AquaQueen Pearl. The AquaQueens shall receive their crowns underwater during the pageant’s first coronation program on January 20.

The turquoise waters of Bohol will serve as the literal backdrop for the coronation of the new titleholders at a beachfront resort in Panglao, which is owned by Renner.

Noche said the three winners have already been announced on social media, but the titles have not been assigned to them yet.

The new pageant’s founder said, “the future of the sea depends on you and me,” and hopes the new queens will further highlight the need to take care of the ocean. EDV
