Dimples Romana could not help but gush over the achievements of her 19-year-old daughter Callie who recently passed her commercial license pilot exams in Australia.
“My super ultra introvert of a daughter Christiana Amanda Lauren Romana-Ahmee just PASSED her very first CPL (Commercial Pilot License) exams in Australia for Aerodynamics,” the actress said in her Instagram post on Sunday, Jan. 8, while showing photos of them together from when Callie was young.
Romana looked back on how Callie was “shy and reserved” as a child which somehow suggested that entering show business was not something “she was keen into doing.”
“When you’re a child of an artista (celebrity), they almost always assume the children will take after the celebrity parent,” Romana stated. “And if Callie wanted to be one, we would’ve supported her. But clearly, it is not what she was keen into doing.”
“After years of listening, guiding, supporting, understanding and giving Capt. [Callie] what we felt would make her happiest and most empowered, she is now living her OWN DREAMS, CREATING her OWN PATH,” she continued. “She is flying high, achieving so much and STILL she is that SAME, quiet, shy, reserved, lighthearted, sweet and thoughtful introverted child she has always been.”
To conclude her post, Romana cheered on Callie and urged fellow parents as well to let their children “decide and embrace the way they are.”
Callie flew to Australia in March last year to study aviation in the Gold Coast, then got to fly a plane all on her own for the first time by August. She also passed her private pilot license exams last October.
Aside from Callie, Romana and her husband Boyet Ahmee have two more younger sons, namely Alonzo and Elio. EDV
