Song Hye-kyo plays a former victim of bullying seeking revenge against her tormentors in the teaser for her upcoming Korean drama, “The Glory.”

The teaser, released on Netflix Asia’s YouTube channel on Thursday, Dec. 8, shows a glimpse at the life of Moon Dong-eun (Song Hye-kyo) who works as a homeroom teacher.

Dong-eun is overwhelmed with anger as she faces an old woman who pleads to “kill for me.” Prior to the encounter, a scene in the trailer shows the protagonist in a conversation with someone who is “going to hell.”

“Some hatred resembles longing. It’s impossible to get rid of. What if anyone or anything, had tried to help me? Maybe a friend. Or a god. Even the weather, maybe. If not, then a sharp weapon,” Hye-kyo said in a voiceover of the trailer.

“The Glory” is directed by Ahn Gil-ho, the filmmaker behind the dramas “Happiness”, “Record of Youth”, and “Memories of the Alhambra”, and is written by popular screenwriter Kim Eun-sook. The upcoming series marks Hye-kyo and Eun-sook’s second time to work together since “Descendants of the Sun” in 2016.

The Korean drama is set to premiere on streaming platform Netflix on Dec. 30 with eight episodes, and it also stars Lee Do-hyun, Lim Ji-yeon, and Yum Hye-ran.

Hye-kyo gained international fame through her lead roles in “Autumn in my Heart”, “Full House”, “That Winter, the Wind Blows”, “Descendants of the Sun”, “Encounter” and most recently, “Now, We Are Breaking Up.” Per The Korea Herald, she is also known for being part of the “Tae-Hye-Ji” troika that includes fellow actresses Kim Tae-hee and Jun Ji-hyun.
