“Pirates of the Caribbean” producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed that Margot Robbie’s female-fronted film “will get made,” weeks after the Australian actress said that the spin-off was supposedly “dead.”

Bruckheimer, who produced all five “Pirates” films, said that two “Pirates” films including Robbie’s are in development, as per an exclusive statement to E! News on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

“We were developing two ‘Pirates.’ Margot Robbie’s will get made but not before the another one gets made. We’re developing two stories,” he told the publication.

The franchise producer then stated in a separate interview with The Wrap on Dec. 5, that they are currently focusing on the first movie which will be an ensemble “Pirates” film.

“We developed two scripts at once and the Margot Robbie script was a little further away, but we’ll get that made down the line too and focus on more of an ensemble ‘Pirates’ movie at this point,” Bruckheimer was quoted as saying.

Robbie disclosed in November that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film which has her as one of its lead stars, is no longer in the works because Disney apparently “doesn’t want to do it.”

Robbie’s inclusion in the franchise spin-off, written by “Birds of Prey” screenwriter Christina Hodson, was made public in 2020 when it was in early development.

American actor Johnny Depp brought to life the franchise’s Captain Jack Sparrow in all five movies. However, Depp’s former Hollywood agent said that the actor was dropped from the franchise because of domestic-abuse claims made by the actor’s ex-wife Amber Heard.

Reports of Depp reprising his role in the franchise surfaced online, but “all the other details are being kept under lock and key,” as per The Sun. EDV
