Herlene Budol expressed disappointment after parts of her national costume seemingly went missing as she is yet to retrieve them from her flight to Uganda, where she is set to compete in the Miss Planet International pageant.
The Binibining Pilipinas 2022 first runner-up, known as the comedian-vlogger Hipon Girl, admitted that she was saddened by the incident as she showed some of the luggage she retrieved from the airline, via her Instagram post today, Nov. 5.
(Your Hipon Girl is [about to cry] and very sad. My national costume appears to have been [rejected] by the airline. When we arrived at the airport, they would not accept [the costume] because it was apparently oversized. Then we had no choice but to let them take the box apart.)
(What is disheartening is that the costume’s main body did not arrive in Uganda. We were in the airport all day and we were promised it would arrive by night, but it was already 2:30 a.m. and there was no word from them.)
Last August, Budol was revealed as the Philippines’ delegate in the Miss Planet International pageant. At the time, she admitted that the milestone felt like a dream for her and that she felt “tension” over being the country’s candidate in the international pageant.
Budol flew to Uganda last Nov. 3, then announced her arrival earlier today. /ra
