“Drag Race Philippines” has opened its casting for season two, weeks after the reality drag competition wrapped up its first season.
The audition announcement was made through the show’s Instagram and Twitter pages on Sunday, Oct. 30.
“Mabu-haaay, Season 2! Casting has officially begun for [‘Drag Race Philippines’ season 2]]!” it said. “If you have the Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent to become the Philippines’ Next Drag Superstar, show us how you pop off, ate and apply before Dec. 1 at dragraceph.com.”
“Drag Race Philippines,” based on the Emmy-winning “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” premiered last August under the streaming platforms HBO Go, Discovery Plus and Wow Presents Plus. The show was hosted by actor Paolo Ballesteros, who also served as a main judge alongside celebrity impersonator KaladKaren and Filipino drag queen Jiggly Caliente.
The reality competition crowned Precious Paula Nicole as the first-ever drag race superstar on Oct. 12. Precious Paula Nicole is now set to appear in RuPaul’s DragCon in London in January 2023.
The production company World of Wonder (WOW) announced the renewal of the show as well as its behind-the-scenes series “Drag Race Philippines: Untucked” for the second season last Oct. 19. EDV
