Henry Cavill confirms return as Superman after ‘Black Adam’ cameo
Henry Cavill is set wear his cape again for the DC cinematic universe as he confirmed that he will be returning as Superman, after his cameo in the recently released “Black Adam.”
The British actor announced his return as Superman by showing himself suited up as the Kryptonian superhero on his Instagram page last Monday, Oct. 24.
“I wanted to wait until the weekend is over before posting this because I wanted to give you all a chance to watch ‘Black Adam,’ but now that plenty of you have, I wanted to make it official that I am back as Superman,” he said. “The image you see in this post, what you saw on ‘Black Adam’ is just a very small taste of things to come.”
Cavill then expressed appreciation to fans, and vowed that they will be “rewarded.”
“There’s lots to be thankful for and I’ll get to that in time, but I wanted to thank you guys most of all. Thank you for your support and thank you for your patience. I promise it will be rewarded,” he told them.

“Black Adam” star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson talked about the “new era” of the DC cinematic universe and Cavill’s cameo during his interview with Entertainment Tonight, also last Monday.
“The whole goal and initiative of Black Adam was to build out the DC universe by introducing not only Black Adam but the entire JSA (Justice Society of America),” Johnson was quoted as saying.
When asked about Cavill’s return as Superman, Johnson said, “I will say this: Welcome home.”
Cavill first appeared as Superman in the 2013 film “Man of Steel,” then starred as the character in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016) and “Justice League” (2017).
Meanwhile, it appears Cavill is not the only member of the Justice League who will be making a comeback as Aquaman actor Jason Momoa earlier teased the return of Ben Affleck as Batman. Affleck also starred in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Justice League” alongside Cavill. /ra
