Wil Dasovich hailed as World Vlog Challenge winner in Nepal
Wil Dasovich was ecstatic as he represented the Philippines and was hailed the champion in the recently-held World Vlog Challenge in Nepal.
The Filipino-American vlogger announced the good news by showing parts of his acceptance speech during the awarding ceremony, via his Instagram page Sunday, Oct. 16. Dasovich competed with nine other content creators from different countries including India, Colombia. U.S., Thailand and Nepal in the competition.
“I just want to make you all proud [and] it’s moments like these where I get to represent an entire country that make me feel like I’m creating an impact,” he said.
Dasovich then spoke about his winning entry, describing it as the “most difficult video” he had made so far. In this vlog which can be seen on his YouTube channel, Dasovich along with other vloggers trekked the mountain ranges of Himalayas to “raise awareness on the importance of Himalayan glaciers.”
“This single Nepal video was arguably the most difficult video to produce to date, and getting millions of people to watch these carefully crafted mini documentaries that promote a meaningful cause is the highest accomplishment I can achieve as a content creator,” he stated. “Capture with entertainment (the bait), leave with life lessons and a greater appreciation for life and the beauties that planet earth beholds — mission accomplished.”
