Arjo Atayde is set to fly to France for the Oct. 19 premiere screening of his TV series “Cattleya Killer” at MIPCOM Cannes, the world’s largest co-production and entertainment content market.

MIPCOM Cannes is an annual event where televisions and media professionals gather “to compete for new series, to source international production partnerships and to set the development agenda,” as per its website. It will be held on Oct. 17 to 20.

The TV series’ milestone was announced by ABS-CBN through its Instagram page last Friday, Oct. 14.

“ABS-CBN brings Filipino content to an international audience with a premiere screening of ‘Cattleya Killer’ at this year’s MIPCOM Cannes, the largest content market in the world,” it read. “This marks the first time a Filipino production will screen at MIPCOM.”

“The pilot of the six-part series will be presented to industry decision makers on Oct. 19 in anticipation of securing a global distribution partner,” it added.

Aside from Atayde, Ruel S. Bayani, head of ABS-CBN International Production and Co-Production, will also attend the premiere screening in Cannes.

“Cattleya Killer,” directed by Dan Villegas, is a remake of the 1996 psychological thriller film “Sa Aking Mga Kamay.” Other celebrities who will star in the series include Jake Cuenca, Ricky Davao, Nonie Buencamino and Jane Oineza. EDV
