Kris Aquino has revealed that she will finally start chemotherapy for her autoimmune conditions, and is experiencing physical manifestations of a possible fifth disease.

The actress opened up on her health situation while showing herself with her sons Josh and Bimby, via her Instagram page today, Sept. 7.

“There have been times I wanted to give up — because of fatigue [and] being forever bedridden; the bruises all over my body that suddenly appear; my inability (since February) to tolerate solid food; headaches; bone deep pain in my spine, knees, joints in my fingers; and my constant flares [especially] in my face that just keep getting worse,” she told fans.

Despite her condition, Aquino finds motivation through her sons and those who are praying for her recovery.

“[I] remind myself Kuya [Josh and] Bimb still need me [and] mahiya naman ako sa lahat ng mga patuloy na nagdarasal para gumanda ang kalusugan ko if I just give up,” she added.

Aquino considers herself “blessed” to be able to get tested for her conditions and meet specialists, then noted that she will start immunosuppressant therapy soon. She also stressed that she does not have cancer, even as she plans to start a “safe form” of chemotherapy.

“I was warned that the safest form of chemotherapy (I don’t have cancer) that can be used for my autoimmune conditions will make me lose my hair. Hair will eventually grow back but permanently damaged organs won’t — so dedma muna sa vanity (So I will ignore vanity),” she explained.

Given her various illnesses, Aquino clarified that she was diagnosed with three autoimmune conditions while in the Philippines, followed by a fourth illness when she arrived in Houston, Texas.

“Unfortunately all my physical manifestations are pointing to a possible 5th – opo, pinakyaw ko na (yes, I took them all)!” she said.

Aquino expressed gratefulness to her family, friends and “guardian angels” who have been praying for her recovery.

“Good night [and] God bless to all with #lovelovelove from Kuya, Bimb, and me,” she told fans.

Aquino last gave the public an update on her health back in June, when she and her sons contracted COVID-19. At the time, she disclosed that she was diagnosed with autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) and Churg Strauss syndrome, known as EGPA.  /ra
