Markus Paterson set the record straight and stated that he never committed violence against any woman, in response to apparent claims he had done such an act.

“[I] saw some tweets circulating. FACT: I have NEVER, and WILL never lay my hands on a woman,” the actor said via his Twitter page today, Sept. 6. “My parents raised me right.”

While the actor did not cite the actual tweets he was pertaining to, Paterson’s statement coincidentally came after an interview of his ex-girlfriend, actress Janella Salvador with talent manager-comedian Ogie Diaz, resurfaced on social media.

During the said interview, released last February, Salvador opened up about her trauma of being around drunk men. When asked about how Paterson made adjustments on his alcohol intake, Salvador admitted that they were still “working on it” at the time.

Some Twitter netizens also referenced the said interview after Paterson earlier made a remark about a lesson he learned from his past relationships, which is to “never f*cking date someone in the industry.”

“I knew Markus. [Wasn’t] it when I saw this Janella interview a few months ago,” one @hesvngrs tweeted.

“Weren’t they drinking when they played this game?” one @tismcoupdetat tweeted. “Markus, this is what Janella was saying when she told you if you can’t handle yourself when drinking then don’t drink at all. [But] it shows the real you, so a blessing in disguise I guess.”

Meanwhile, Salvador has apparently confirmed that she and Paterson have parted ways by revealing that she is now a single mom. Salvador and Paterson, who made public their relationship in 2020, has a one-year-old son together, Jude. JB
