Ruffa Gutierrez has finally received her diploma as she attended her in-person graduation from Philippine Women’s University (PWU).
The actress proudly marched with her fellow graduates while donning a maroon toga at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), as seen on her Instagram and TikTok pages yesterday, Sept. 2. Gutierrez earned a bachelor’s degree in communication arts under the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program.
“Philippine Women’s University 99th Commencement Exercises earlier today at PICC. Congratulations to my fellow PWU graduates!” she said.
Gutierrez gushed over finally graduating during her interview with PWU, as seen on the university’s Instagram page, also yesterday.
“At this moment, I’m very excited. I’m very proud. Talagang graduate na ako (I am indeed a graduate), I’m already a degree holder,” she stated in the interview.
Gutierrez then reflected on her realizations when it comes to education and stressed that one can graduate “at any age.” She also noted that she wanted to pursue further education to be an inspiration to her daughters Lorin and Venice.
“I’m a single mom. I worked so hard. Nag-stop ako (I stopped [studying]) after high school kasi (because) I made the most of my opportunities that were coming my way back then, but it’s never too late to go back to school,” she said.
Gutierrez returned to school in May 2021, then announced last month that she was set to attend her graduation rites. The actress is now pursuing her master’s degree, also in communications arts. /ra
