Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves looked back at their days as candidates in Binibining Pilipinas as they posed in a photo shoot ahead of the pageant’s coronation night.
The beauty queens, who will be hosting this year’s Binibining Pilipinas, donned dresses inspired by their swimsuits back when they competed in the local pageant, as seen on Gray’s Instagram page yesterday, July 28. The portraits were taken by photographer Dookie Ducay.
Gray donned a gold dress with a halter neckline, similar to the gold swimsuit she wore when she was a delegate in Binibining Pilipinas 2018. Meanwhile, Cordoves posed in a white dress that was inspired by the swimsuit she used when she entered Binibining Pilipinas 2016.
“Sister Act. My sis [Nicole Cordoves] and I are back as the all-female hosting tandem for [Binibining Pilipinas] 2022,” Gray said. “[I] wanted to recreate our Binibini candidate days!”
This is not the first time that Gray and Cordoves will host Binibining Pilipinas together. They both appeared as hosts of the pageant last year, during its 57th edition.
Binibining Pilipinas’ 58th grand coronation night will be held this Sunday, July 31, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The 40 candidates in the pageant are competing for four titles: Bb. Pilipinas International, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, Bb. Pilipinas Globe and Bb. Pilipinas Grand International. /ra
