Kim Atienza was not able to attend his daughter Eliana’s high school graduation after he contracted the novel coronavirus and was placed in isolation.
Kim showed snaps from his daughter’s graduation in International School Manila, with his wife Felicia and his son Jose in attendance, via Kim’s Instagram page yesterday, May 28.
“I took a leave for this day I was [so] looking forward to but [COVID-19] took the better of me and I had to isolate at home,” he said.
Kim expressed his love for Eliana while talking about his and Felicia’s responsibilities as parents to their children.
“I love you and I am [so] proud of you [Eliana Atienza]. You are God’s gift to mama and I, and in a few months, you shall be in college far away from both of us,” he added. “Parents are like bows and you are like an arrow. Our job is to shoot you far and straight and high…..far away from us. It is sad but that’s what parents are designed to do.”
He then sent his well-wishes to his daughter, disclosing that Eliana will be going to the United States to study at the University of Pennsylvania.
Kim also expressed his gratitude to Manila mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and a friend for sending COVID-19 medicines to him, via Kim’s Instagram Stories, also yesterday.

Meanwhile, Kim transferred from ABS-CBN to GMA network in October last year. He is part of the GMA news show “24 Oras” as its weather forecaster, and the morning show “Mars Pa More,” which he co-hosts with Iya Villania and Camille Prats. JB
