“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” the sequel to the 2018 Oscar-winning film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse,” is hitting theaters later than expected as its release was moved to June 2023.
The new release date of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” was announced via the film’s official Twitter page yesterday, April 21.
“A shift in the multi-verse,” it stated.
The movie, the first of two parts, was originally set to premiere in October this year, but it was moved to June 2, 2023. Meanwhile, the second part of the film will be released on March 29, 2024.

The reason for the delay in the animated film’s release was not revealed, though its producer Christopher Miller appeared to be optimistic about it.
“More time to make it great,” he said on his Twitter page, also yesterday. His tweet was accompanied by a spider emoji.

The first teaser for “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” was released in December last year. It picks up from where the 2018 movie left off, with Spider-Man Miles Morales reuniting with Gwen Stacy after she jumped into his universe.
“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson. Its voice actors include Shameik Moore (Spider-Man Miles Morales), Hailee Steinfeld (Gwen Stacy) and Oscar Isaac (Spider-Man 2099). /ra
