Carla Abellana is finally building her dream home, and she marked the milestone with a ground-breaking ceremony.
Abellana’s sister Erica Espiritu revealed that the actress is set to have a new home by showing her sister posing with a shovel at an empty lot on her Instagram Stories last Wednesday, March 17.
“Proud of this smart, strong and independent woman, [Carla Abellana]. Here’s to your future dream home, [sister] abu!” Espiritu said.

Meanwhile, Abellana is hoping to sell her condominium unit in Pasig City with a price slashed by P2 million, which she stated is “below market value.”
This comes amid rumors that Abellana and her husband Tom Rodriguez have separated. The actress’ father Rey “PJ” Abellana earlier revealed in an interview with columnist Cristy Fermin that there was a “one-night stand” involved in the couple’s marital woes, though he later retracted his statement.
Speculations on Rodriguez and Carla’s supposed split circulated last January, when eagle-eyed fans noticed that the pair unfollowed then followed each other again on Instagram. Carla was also spotted without her wedding ring in her YouTube vlog last Feb. 5. Despite rumors, Rodriguez declared love for his wife last Feb. 11.
Carla and Rodriguez tied the knot in October 2021, after about seven years of being a couple. /ra
