Ben&Ben’s Paolo Guico bares stretch marks after weight loss: ‘I celebrate my past self’

Ben&Ben’s Paolo Guico embraced his stretch marks after finally achieving his target weight, two years since he decided to lose his extra pounds.
Guico, who is the band’s vocalist alongside his twin brother Miguel, showed photos of himself before and after he achieved his weight goal via his Instagram page today, March 9.
“These pictures represent years of hard work and sacrifice. Today, I just wanted to celebrate this growth with all of you. Thanks for being there to cheer me on at my lowest moments,” he said. “I hit my goal weight this week, finally.”
Guico then talked to those who are on their “path to growth,” urging them not to do it for others but for themselves and the people they love. He also reminded them that they have “so much to offer” and he knows everyone is doing their best to achieve their goals.
“You’re not alone. I’m rooting for you. I’m with you,” he encouraged them. “In this picture, I also celebrate my stretch marks. [Because] they’re awesome. I also celebrate my past self, because he’s awesome too.”

Prior to this, Guico opened up about his two-year weight loss journey by showing himself jogging on his Instagram page last Monday, March 7. Guico recalled that he used to get easily tired from running, but can now “conquer” 21 kilometers.
“I want to unapologetically celebrate this moment because it took literal blood, sweat and tears to get to this point,” he told fans.
The musician acknowledged that his running journey was a big part of his healthier lifestyle and it also allowed him to develop focus and grit, as well as meditate and reflect.
“As you go through your own journey of growth, know that at all times you are accepted and loved, but also know that you have so much room to grow and be the best version of yourself. We just gotta put in the work, but we’ll get there!” he noted.

Ben&Ben is currently in Dubai for a show today at Expo 2020 Dubai. They were supposed to perform in person for the event last January, but had to postpone due to COVID-19 cases “within the band.” /ra
